A few months ago, we had the opportunity to visit the Museum of Science and Industry with our boys. We both had not been there since we were kids and heading there was quite the treat. One of the biggest pluses for me is that it is away from Chicago's traditional museum campus (Shedd, Planetarium and Field Museum) which means that you are usually avoiding crowds.
With a close parking lot, families with small children will love its convenience. In one day, we didn't come close to exploring the entirety of the museum. Large children's areas and interactive exhibits and displays meant that our kids (ages 3 and 1) were occupied with little assistance. Our favorites included the John Deere farm room and the humongous United States train display. This will definitely be on our list of must-have memberships when the boys get older!
