Editorial

Seattle’s Magnuson park is located on a former Navy airfield along a mile-long stretch of Lake Washington shoreline. The 350 acre park is a home to Seattle’s largest playground, which includes more than 20,000 square feet of brightly colored climbing walls, swings, slides, a sand box and more. Magnuson Park is an excellent place for kids and parents to interact with each other and have fun. This multi-dimensional park includes a large parking lot, several sports fields, a swimming beach, dog park, off-leash dog area and a great place to fly kites. During Seafair, Magnuson park is one of the best places to watch the Blue Angels fly overhead. This historic park offers enough room for everyone to spread out and enjoy their own space, as well as numerous opportunities for recreation and leisure. Spend a day at Magnuson park and you’ll quickly understand why the park is a local family favorite. Note: As of June of 2012 this park is lacking restrooms in by the playground with the City of Seattle compensating by adding unclean porta-potties in the parking lot.
